Get Started With Lateral Band Walks

  • 1

Loop a resistance band around your ankles and stand with your feet hip-width apart.

  • 2

Keep your feet parallel and step out to your right, leading with your right foot.

  • 3

Bring your left foot to meet your right foot, keeping tension on the band.

  • 4

Take another step out to the right with your right foot, and then bring our left foot to meet it.

  • 5

Continue stepping out to the right for the desired number of reps.

  • 6

To change direction, simply step out to the left with your left foot, and then bring your right foot to meet it.

  • 7

Remember to keep your core engaged and your back straight throughout the exercise.

  • 8

Keep your feet parallel, and avoid letting your knees to collapse inward

  • 9

Take small steps to keep tension on the band, breathe in and out as you walk.
